"In learning the martial art of ‘Buah Pukul’ there are 3 levels. Level 1 – The student fully commits to following his teacher, developing his behaviours and mannerisms whilst at the same time being taught the basics of the Buah Pukul system. Understanding and conditioning his body and mind for the techniques. The teacher will introduce student to basic combat drills to begin with on this level. Level 2 – This level will be a further expansion of what the student briefly understands, continuous practice of several already learnt combat drills to the introduction of new ones. On this stage the student is taught several new concepts of the Buah Pukul system to compliment and encourage further study of the basics and fundamentals he knows. Level 3 – Level 3 is where the Buah Pukul practitioner begins to understand Buah Pukul and developing his own drill from the forms; identifying that there are several points to be taken from the forms and learning to dissect his own from them. At this point the student is well versed in the basics of Buah Pukul and has a firm understanding of them, allowing him to develop the basics into his own variations and drills. At this stage the basics are understood but the opportunities are limitless with the student, the philosophy of Buah Pukul combat should now be applicable in all types of fighting and are identifiable. However a strong bond must be kept between student and teacher so the student can progress to more advanced levels in the future. This will open the door of confidence and yaqeen (trust in Allahs will) and no more indecisions in oneself.
